About the Role
AMO Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited, a market leader in the Nigerian poultry industry dedicated to delivering exceptional quality products and profitable farming solutions, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Farmers’ Technical Consultant (FTC). In this vital field role, you will provide expert technical support to Mother Units, Enterprise Advisors, and local poultry farmers. Your core mission will be to improve overall farm productivity, ensure the adoption of best management practices, strengthen biosecurity measures, and enhance the long-term profitability and sustainability of poultry enterprises throughout your assigned region.
Key Responsibilities- Provide regular, hands-on technical advisory and farm support services to assigned poultry farmers and Mother Units.
- Train, mentor, and build the capacity of farmers and Enterprise Advisors on modern poultry production, animal health, biosecurity, and general farm management.
- Monitor flock performance meticulously, identify technical challenges early, and recommend actionable, science-backed solutions.
- Support proactive disease prevention strategies, vaccination schedules, and ensure the prompt reporting and containment of any disease outbreaks.
- Conduct routine farm visits to monitor operations and guarantee strict compliance with technical standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collect accurate production data and submit comprehensive, timely field reports to management.
- Liaise effectively with veterinarians, agricultural extension agents, input suppliers, and key stakeholders to support seamless project implementation.
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Animal Science, Animal Production, Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Technology, Agricultural Extension, or a closely related agricultural field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of proven, practical experience in commercial poultry production or livestock extension services.
- Sound, up-to-date knowledge of tropical poultry production systems and rigorous biosecurity protocols.
- Strong interpersonal, training, public speaking, and advisory communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex farm performance data and solve technical problems creatively.
- Proficiency in report writing and digital data collection tools.
- Willingness and readiness to travel extensively within assigned project locations across Nigeria.
