About the Role
Vert Farms Ltd., an innovative agricultural and agri-tech firm committed to feeding Sub-Saharan Africa, is seeking a hands-on and results-oriented Farm Manager. You will oversee daily farm operations, ensuring efficient, profitable, and sustainable production across our poultry and livestock units.
Key Responsibilities- Manage daily operations for layer and broiler units, including brooding, feeding, and biosecurity.
- Oversee livestock welfare, growth, feeding, and health management for cattle, sheep, and goats.
- Supervise, train, and schedule farm attendants to maintain high productivity and discipline.
- Monitor feed inventory, consumption rates, and minimize resource wastage.
- Enforce strict biosecurity protocols and hygiene standards across all farm facilities.
- Maintain accurate production records covering egg yields, mortality, and feed usage.
- Prepare regular performance reports and drive cost-control strategies to achieve profitability targets.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience managing a commercial poultry or livestock farm.
- Proven expertise in layer operations, poultry nutrition, and veterinary disease prevention.
- Strong leadership, record-keeping, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data tracking and reporting.
