About the Role
Iconic Open University, a premier NUC-licensed private open and distance learning institution in Nigeria, invites applications from distinguished academics to serve as External Examiners for our Arabic programmes. In this vital academic quality assurance role, you will help maintain the highest standards of integrity and excellence across our undergraduate and postgraduate offerings.
Key Responsibilities- Review and moderate Arabic curriculum, course materials, and examination questions to ensure academic rigor and alignment with NUC standards.
- Evaluate undergraduate and postgraduate student performance, dissertations, and theses objectively.
- Provide comprehensive external examiner reports to the University Senate highlighting strengths, areas for improvement, and recommendations.
- Ensure assessment processes are fair, transparent, and comparable to global tertiary education standards.
- Must hold a minimum of a Ph.D. degree in Arabic or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Must currently hold the academic rank of Senior Lecturer, Reader, or Professor.
- Demonstrated track record of postgraduate supervision and quality research publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Prior experience as an external examiner at recognized tertiary institutions is strongly preferred.
- Must be completely independent of Iconic Open University with no conflicts of interest.
- Familiarity with Open and Distance Learning (ODL) environments and e-assessment platforms is an advantage.
