About the Role
Albarka Healthspring Foundation (AHSF) is a leading non-governmental organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for vulnerable populations across communities in Northeast Nigeria. We are currently seeking a dynamic, results-driven professional to join our team as the Expert II - Communications Officer (Internal) to drive our strategic communication, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement efforts in humanitarian and developmental contexts.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement strategic communication and advocacy activities to increase awareness, understanding, and stakeholder buy-in for Independent Monitoring of SP interventions.
- Ensure all materials and messaging are clear, culturally appropriate, and effectively reach policy makers and grassroots communities.
- Develop annual and quarterly communication plans featuring clear targets, distinct audiences, and appropriate communication channels.
- Produce high-quality communication materials including policy briefs, case studies, fact sheets, infographics, success stories, and human-interest stories.
- Support the Community Entry Officer in community entry processes, stakeholder engagement, sensitization, and the mobilization of project participants.
- Ensure the availability of activity banners and prioritize donor visibility for the EU, GIZ, and BMZ in strict accordance with their specific requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality, adhere to ethical standards, and ensure gender and social inclusion principles are consistently applied across all tasks.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive reports for town hall meetings, including summaries of discussions, key concerns, recommendations, and actionable points.
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Media Studies, Marketing, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in communications, public relations, journalism, or development communication.
- Demonstrated strong skills in content development, media engagement, graphic design, and the production of visibility materials.
- Prior working experience with NGOs or international donor-funded programmes, with specific knowledge of GIZ, EU, and BMZ visibility guidelines.
- Previous working experience in Borno State or Northeast Nigeria, coupled with proficiency in local languages such as Hausa or Kanuri.
