About the Role

Albarka Health Spring Foundation (AHSF) is a dynamic non-governmental organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for vulnerable populations across communities in Northeast Nigeria. Operating in both emergency and developmental contexts, we address critical community gaps through resource-based planning and inclusive implementation. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as the Expert I - Social Protection / Programme Officer (Internal) to drive our mission forward in collaboration with key partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert technical support in the planning, coordination, and implementation of Independent Monitoring activities.
  • Collaborate with M&E and Community Entry teams alongside the GIZ SEPIN-SUSI SP team to simplify and translate complex policy frameworks into user-friendly formats.
  • Support the successful rollout, socialization, and adoption of social protection frameworks, policies, strategies, and manuals at both state and community levels.
  • Coordinate vital field activities, including community sensitization campaigns, capacity-building workshops, and high-level stakeholder meetings.
  • Ensure all interventions are fully inclusive, gender-sensitive, and responsive to the unique needs of vulnerable populations.
  • Integrate continuous learning and adaptive management strategies into daily programme implementation.
  • Develop comprehensive, accurate, and timely monthly and quarterly progress reports.
  • Maintain strict alignment of programme activities with assigned consultancy objectives and organizational standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Policy, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Economics, Political Science, Public Administration, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in social protection, programme management, governance, social policy, institutional strengthening, or community-based development.
  • Demonstrated experience working in Borno State or Northeast Nigeria, alongside a strong track record of engaging with government entities and international development partners.
  • A Master's degree in a relevant discipline and proficiency in Kanuri will be considered significant added advantages.
  • Mandatory fluency in speaking the Hausa language to effectively engage local community members and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, coupled with a high degree of initiative, flexibility, and positive team spirit.
  • Strong computer literacy, good numeracy skills, and the ability to work independently under tight time pressures with minimal supervision.
