About the Role
Teestone Hotel & Apartments is a modern boutique hotel located in the peaceful neighborhood of Ikeja, just 15 minutes from Murtala Muhammed International Airport. We offer the perfect combination of comfort and contemporary hospitality for business travelers and tourists alike. We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Hotel Cook to prepare high-quality meals for our guests while maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook a wide variety of local and continental dishes according to established hotel menus and recipes.
- Ensure all food items are prepared, garnished, and presented to the highest culinary standards.
- Maintain absolute cleanliness, sanitation, and organization across all kitchen workstations and equipment.
- Strictly follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP regulations at all times.
- Monitor food stock levels, assist in inventory management, and report shortages to management.
- Receive, store, and properly rotate food supplies to ensure optimal freshness and minimize waste.
- Implement portion control guidelines to maintain cost efficiency and reduce kitchen waste.
- Collaborate seamlessly with front-of-house and kitchen staff to guarantee smooth daily operations.
- Inspect raw ingredients and finished dishes daily to guarantee superior freshness and taste.
- Assist the culinary team with menu planning and special event catering when required.
- Proven professional experience as a Hotel Cook, Line Cook, or similar role within the Nigerian hospitality industry.
- Deep knowledge of diverse culinary techniques, local Nigerian cuisines, and continental dishes.
- Solid understanding of food safety, health, and sanitation standards.
- Ability to thrive and deliver under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
- Flexibility to work shift schedules, weekends, and public holidays as operational demands require.
- Culinary school certification or relevant vocational training is a distinct advantage.
