About the Role
True Metals Nigeria Limited, a prominent subsidiary of True Metals Mauritius Ltd. and a leader in the non-ferrous metals export and import industry with smelting operations in Nigeria since 2018, is seeking a qualified ETP Operator. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of our Effluent Treatment Plant to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and operate the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) daily to ensure smooth and efficient wastewater treatment processes.
- Conduct routine checks and laboratory testing of wastewater samples to maintain optimal chemical dosing and pH levels.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on ETP machinery, pumps, valves, and filtration systems.
- Maintain accurate daily operational logs, chemical inventory records, and equipment maintenance reports.
- Ensure all plant discharges strictly comply with environmental laws, regulatory standards, and internal safety policies.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and operational faults promptly to minimize downtime and environmental risks.
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, or a related science discipline.
- Proven working experience as an ETP Operator or in a similar water treatment role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes, chemical reactions, and environmental safety protocols.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary industrial team.
- Familiarity with Nigerian environmental regulatory standards is an added advantage.
