About the Role
Tincan Island Container Terminal Limited (TICT) is redefining ports and terminal operations in Nigeria through operational excellence and strict safety standards. We are currently looking for a motivated Equipment Operator Trainee to join our dynamic team in Apapa, Lagos. In this role, you will undergo rigorous training to safely and efficiently operate mobile cranes and heavy machinery, supporting the seamless loading, offloading, and movement of cargo within our bustling terminal environment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate mobile cranes and heavy equipment under supervision to lift, move, and position containers and cargo.
- Adhere strictly to safety procedures, standard lifting practices, and equipment load charts at all times.
- Maintain safe working zones and coordinate effectively with riggers, signalers, and ground crew.
- Maintain accurate daily operational logs and report any equipment abnormalities, breakdowns, or near misses immediately.
- Complete assigned terminal tasks efficiently to minimize idle time and operational delays.
- Minimum of a BSc or HND from a recognized and reputable tertiary institution.
- Demonstrated physical agility, including the ability to bend, climb, and work effectively in outdoor industrial environments.
- High willingness to learn, take instructions, and adapt to changing operational conditions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate seamlessly with colleagues.
- Must be certified medically fit to perform the physical and operational duties of the role.
