About the Role
Amaiden Energy Nigeria Limited is a leading provider of technical staffing and engineering support services to the Nigerian oil and gas industry. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Environmental Operations Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our operations adhere to the highest global environmental standards, supporting our commitment to sustainability and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support in oil spill response, supervise remediation of impacted sites, and assist in carrying out antipollution equipment audits.
- Participate in Joint Investigation Visits, claims investigations, and the preparation of oil spill contingency plans.
- Supervise impacted site characterization, monitor remediation effectiveness, and ensure timely regulatory reporting.
- Conduct internal environmental audits, prepare sites for ISO 14001 certification, and maintain the company HSE Management System.
- Supervise environmental monitoring activities, manage cradle-to-grave waste tracking, and maintain up-to-date compliance databases.
- Participate in Incident Management Team (IMT) environmental units and support OSCP activation exercises.
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Environmental Sciences or Applied Sciences with a minimum of a Second Class Lower division.
- At least 7 years of post-qualification experience, with a minimum of 5 years specifically spent in the oil and gas industry coordinating environmental studies or related duties.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the power of persuasion for interfacing with sites, regulatory authorities, and key stakeholders.
- Exceptional report writing, oral communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
