About the Role
Resurgir Consulting is partnering with a forward-thinking educational institution in Lagos to find a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher with specialized expertise in Grammar and Phonics. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping young minds, fostering a love for literature, and building foundational literacy skills for primary school pupils. We are looking for an educator who excels at creating interactive, child-friendly learning environments where children feel confident to read, write, and speak proficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, interactive English language lessons tailored to diverse learning needs.
- Teach comprehensive modules covering Grammar, Phonics, Reading, Comprehension, Vocabulary, Spelling, Writing, and Oral English.
- Assess and monitor pupils' academic progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted support.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and effective classroom management style that encourages active participation.
- Support students in developing strong communication, pronunciation, and public speaking confidence.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure the holistic development and academic success of every child.
- Possess a minimum of an HND or B.Sc. in English, English Education, Education, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 2 years of proven teaching experience, preferably within a primary school setting in Nigeria.
- Exceptional command of English grammar, phonics rules, and neutral pronunciation.
- Strong classroom management capabilities combined with high emotional intelligence and patience.
