About the Role
Cutting-Edge International Academy, a premier private educational institution located in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, is seeking a passionate and qualified English Teacher to join our dynamic academic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping students' linguistic abilities, fostering a love for literature, and preparing learners for success in both internal and external examinations.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare comprehensive lesson notes and schemes of work before every teaching session.
- Deliver engaging, student-centred English lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Administer, mark, and record continuous assessment (CA) scores accurately within stated deadlines.
- Identify struggling students and provide targeted extra academic support.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and disciplined classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Participate actively in staff meetings and continuous professional development (CPD) training sessions.
- Submit lesson notes to the Head of Department weekly for professional review.
- Support school clubs, extracurricular programmes, and institutional events.
- Possession of a B.Ed, B.Sc, or BA with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), or a relevant teaching qualification.
- Strong subject mastery and proven classroom teaching experience.
- Mandatory TRCN registration or a firm willingness to register upon employment.
- Familiarity with the NERDC curriculum and examination bodies such as WAEC and NECO.
- Strong classroom management skills and excellent command of the English language.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Bilingual advantage: Proficiency in both English and Arabic languages will be an added bonus.
- Minimum of 1 year of previous teaching experience is highly preferred.
