Key Responsibilities
  • Teach English Language and Literature effectively in line with the approved school curriculum.
  • Prepare students thoroughly for external examinations such as WAEC, NECO, and IGCSE, driving exceptional results.
  • Develop engaging lesson plans, learning materials, assignments, and comprehensive assessments.
  • Conduct regular tests, revision classes, and targeted examination preparation sessions.
  • Monitor student academic progress closely and provide personalized support where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide constructive, timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Keep up to date with modern curriculum changes and evolving examination requirements.
  • Collaborate proactively with colleagues, school leadership, and parents to support holistic student success.
  • Participate actively in departmental activities, school programs, and continuous professional development initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Literature, Education, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of cognate teaching experience, preferably within a reputable secondary school.
  • Proven track record of successfully preparing students for external examinations like WAEC, NECO, and IGCSE.
  • Strong command of the English language with deep knowledge of literature.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, classroom management, and innovative teaching skills.
  • Confidence, resourcefulness, high academic standards, and a genuine passion for teaching.
