About the Role
Qore is the leading cloud-native Core Banking Software provider powering Africa's dynamic digital financial ecosystem. We are currently looking for a skilled Engineering Specialist, Offensive Security to join our cybersecurity team. In this role, you will play a critical part in protecting our enterprise networks, systems, and applications from sophisticated cyber threats through proactive ethical hacking, vulnerability assessments, and robust red team operations.
Key Responsibilities- Identify vulnerabilities and exposures within enterprise networks, systems, and applications.
- Conduct authorized penetration testing on enterprise assets, new applications, and network infrastructure.
- Perform threat hunting, develop custom test scenarios, and analyze threat trends to identify indicators of compromise.
- Design and develop custom cybersecurity tools, countermeasures, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Create comprehensive exploitation strategies and provide actionable recommendations for security controls.
- Partner with internal teams to improve alert development, close control gaps, and facilitate custom tabletop exercises.
- Deliver detailed technical documentation, incident reports, and video-recorded descriptions of findings to stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an offensive security or similar role, preferably within the fintech or financial services sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in web security, application security, and red team operations.
- Strong analytical, planning, problem-solving, and independent working skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience mentoring junior team members being a distinct advantage.
