About the Role
WATT Renewable Corporation is a Canadian independent power producer dedicated to sustainable development and reliable electricity access in frontier economies. We design, build, own, and operate innovative renewable energy projects utilizing solar, wind, and biomass generation to power homes, schools, hospitals, and community hubs.
Key Responsibilities- Own the end-to-end design process, from site surveys and load capture to equipment sizing, single-line diagrams, and as-built documentation.
- Direct the comprehensive design of solar hybrid systems, integrating PV arrays, inverters, battery storage, and diesel generators while ensuring strict compliance with high-voltage safety codes.
- Lead, mentor, and develop project engineers and draftspersons, effectively managing design workloads and turnaround times against project pipelines.
- Enforce rigorous QA/QC standards on all design outputs and proactively identify technical risks prior to site deployment.
- Interface directly with clients and regulatory bodies to align designs with operational requirements and compliance standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Power Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in power, energy, or infrastructure engineering with a strong focus on system design.
- Deep expertise in solar hybrid system design, high-voltage standards, and associated safety protocols.
- Active COREN registration or progress toward certification is considered a strong professional asset.
- Proficiency with industry-standard design and drafting tools such as AutoCAD and PVsyst.
