About the Role
Elektron Energy Development Strategies Limited is a leading energy infrastructure platform company committed to developing prime, sustainable energy assets across West Africa. Elektron Renewables Limited (ERL) is currently expanding its dynamic technical team and is looking for a talented Engineering Associate. This exciting opportunity allows a hands-on engineer to play a critical role in project feasibility, technical analysis, system design, and project execution while taking ownership of vital engineering responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Design and technically assess renewable energy systems from initial feasibility through to detailed design stages.
- Carry out precise system sizing, technology selection, and equipment configuration for diverse power projects.
- Develop robust technical proposals and engineering solutions tailored to renewable energy initiatives.
- Conduct advanced system simulations and performance analyses utilizing industry-standard tools like PVsyst and HOMER.
- Prepare, review, and manage engineering drawings, specifications, SLDs, layouts, BOQs, BEMEs, and other crucial technical documentation.
- Provide expert technical inputs to support project pricing, procurement, and commercial alignment.
- Support comprehensive site assessments, project development, implementation, and commissioning activities.
- Collaborate effectively with EPC partners, OEMs, and technical stakeholders to validate performance requirements.
- Identify potential technical risks, design gaps, and actionable opportunities for overall system optimisation.
- Work closely with internal project, business development, and finance teams to translate complex requirements into practical solutions.
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience within the renewable energy sector, specifically focusing on solar C&I, distributed energy, mini-grids, or BESS projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in renewable energy system design, sizing, and rigorous technical analysis.
- Proven background in developing technical proposals and comprehensive system configurations.
- Practical, hands-on experience utilizing PVsyst and HOMER for energy modeling.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel for technical drafting and data management.
- Strong engineering fundamentals with the ability to interpret, review, and validate complex engineering drawings.
