About the Role
MTN Nigeria, Africa's leading telecommunications company, is seeking an experienced Engineer, Solution Developer for our MoMoPSB division to drive the creation of innovative digital financial services. This pivotal role combines technical leadership with hands-on full-stack engineering to build enterprise-grade FinTech products that impact millions of users across Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end architecture, development, and deployment of complex financial applications and digital wallets.
- Drive technical decision-making and ensure high code quality across multidisciplinary backend and frontend engineering teams.
- Architect robust backend services using modern frameworks like Node.js, Java, .NET, or Go, and build responsive web interfaces with React, Vue, or Angular.
- Design secure payment gateways, transaction processing engines, KYC/AML systems, and digital onboarding flows.
- Ensure strict compliance with regulatory standards including PCI-DSS, NDPR, ISO, and local Nigerian banking regulations.
- Manage agile sprints, guide solution design, review code, and mentor engineering talent to foster continuous professional growth.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3 to 7 years of continuous experience as a full-stack software engineer with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or senior role.
- Proven track record of building and scaling large-scale FinTech, banking, or payment processing solutions.
- Expertise in backend technologies (Node.js, Java, Go, .NET), frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue), and databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).
- Solid understanding of Cloud and DevOps practices including AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Deep knowledge of microservices architecture, event-driven design, API gateways, and financial transaction security standards.
