About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is a prestigious federal institution renowned for academic excellence and robust infrastructural development. We are currently seeking a dedicated and competent Engineer II (Works) on CONTISS 08 to join our vibrant works and services team. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining, supervising, and executing engineering projects across our expanding campus, ensuring safe and efficient facilities for our academic and student community.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering projects and routine maintenance works across campus facilities.
- Assist senior engineers in the preparation of design drawings, bills of quantities, and tender documents.
- Inspect university infrastructure regularly to identify maintenance needs and recommend prompt corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental standards during project execution.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, logs of daily progress, and material inventory reports.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of technicians, artisans, and contractors to deliver projects on time.
- Perform other engineering duties as assigned by the Director of Works.
- A good Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree not below Second Class (Lower Division) from a recognized university.
- Mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge or exemption certificate.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and Microsoft Office suite is an added advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment.
