About the Role
The Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC) is a premier federal tertiary health institution dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare, medical training, and research. We are currently seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and professionally driven Mechanical Engineer I to join our maintenance and engineering team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the optimal functioning of critical medical and infrastructural equipment, contributing directly to patient care and operational excellence within a leading Nigerian teaching hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Design, install, operate, and maintain mechanical systems and equipment within the hospital complex.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on hospital machinery, HVAC systems, and utility plants.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical faults promptly to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with other healthcare and technical professionals to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
- Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repair histories.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal safety standards, environmental regulations, and institutional policies.
- Possession of a good and relevant Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Must be registrable with the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
- Possession of a valid current practicing license.
- Evidence of successful completion or exemption from the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
