About the Role
Join MTN Nigeria, Africa's leading telecommunications company, as a CloudOps Engineer. In this critical role, you will deliver essential day-2 operational support for cloud-hosted infrastructure services and workloads across multiple cloud environments, ensuring continuous service availability and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor cloud-hosted services and respond to alerts, incidents, and service requests in alignment with approved support processes
- Execute day-2 support activities including monitoring, incident response, standard changes, and recovery support for cloud workloads
- Perform routine operational tasks such as health checks, service restarts, basic recovery actions, and maintenance activities
- Maintain comprehensive support documentation, runbooks, and operational records to ensure effective service delivery and knowledge sharing
- Support implementation of approved changes and planned maintenance activities across cloud environments
- Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and service owners to escalate and resolve complex issues
- Identify recurring faults, known errors, and operational improvement opportunities within supported environments
- Update tickets and support records accurately to enable effective incident tracking and team handovers
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 3-7 years' experience in infrastructure, cloud operations, or production support roles
- Hands-on expertise in monitoring, incident handling, change execution, and service restoration
- Demonstrated experience supporting Azure, private cloud, virtualization, or enterprise hosting environments
- Working knowledge of backup, recovery, patching, and operational support tools
- Relevant cloud or infrastructure support certifications (advantageous)
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills
