About the Role
Shalina Healthcare, a trusted market leader in making quality healthcare products affordable and accessible across Africa, is looking for a dedicated and skilled Encapsulation Machine Operator to join our dynamic production team in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining advanced capsule filling equipment to guarantee the efficient production of high-grade pharmaceutical products, helping us fulfill our mission to help people live longer and healthier lives.
Key Responsibilities- Operate encapsulation and capsule filling machines efficiently to consistently meet daily and weekly production targets.
- Perform machine set-ups, including precise changeovers, thorough cleaning, and routine adjustments of machine parameters.
- Monitor ongoing machine performance and conduct regular in-process quality checks for capsule weight, appearance, and fill consistency.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of batch records, equipment logbooks, and comprehensive production reports.
- Adhere strictly to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and NAFDAC regulatory requirements.
- Carry out scheduled cleaning and basic maintenance of machinery to maintain a hygienic and hazard-free work area.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and promptly report mechanical faults, deviations, or product quality issues to the supervisor.
- Minimize material wastage and optimize resource utilization during all manufacturing runs.
- Minimum of SSCE, O'Level, or OND in a science or engineering-related discipline.
- 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, specifically focusing on capsule production.
- Thorough working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and standard pharmaceutical production processes.
- Proven ability to operate, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on encapsulation machinery.
- Strong attention to detail with a solid understanding of batch record handling and regulatory documentation.
