About the Role
Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, is looking for a dedicated Electromechanical Engineer to join our team at Dangote Sugar Refinery (DSR) in Numan. In this vital role, you will spearhead full electromechanical project execution and infrastructure development to support our massive sugarcane agricultural expansion, driving local manufacturing capacity and agricultural innovation in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Design and supervise the installation of comprehensive irrigation pump stations, including pumps, motors, valves, and pipelines.
- Perform critical hydraulic calculations, determining flow rate, pressure, and head requirements for optimal system performance.
- Design and implement robust electrical power systems featuring transformers, switchgear, MCC panels, and advanced protection systems.
- Plan and execute power line infrastructure, covering both overhead and underground medium-voltage and low-voltage lines.
- Install and configure advanced motor control systems such as DOL, Star-Delta, soft starters, and VFDs.
- Develop Single Line Diagrams (SLD), detailed cable layouts, and secure grounding systems.
- Integrate seamless pump station operations with drip irrigation networks and automated control systems.
- Implement SCADA and PLC-based automation solutions for efficient irrigation scheduling and remote monitoring.
- Ensure stringent electrical safety compliance, proper grounding, and lightning protection across all installations.
- Develop and execute energy-efficient pumping and power distribution solutions to optimize operational costs.
- Bachelor's degree in Electromechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Possession of relevant professional certifications will be a strong added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years of hands-on professional experience in pump station systems, power distribution or line construction, and irrigation or agro-industrial projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in project management, hydraulic calculations, and SCADA/PLC automation.
