About the Role
Grand Maridos Hotel, Ibadan's premier destination for business and leisure travelers, is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to join our dedicated maintenance team. This role is vital to ensuring the seamless operation of our electrical systems, contributing directly to the comfort, safety, and satisfaction of our guests across our 40+ rooms, conference facilities, restaurant, and fitness center.
As part of our commitment to being the most guest-centric hotel in Ibadan, we require a hands-on professional who can deliver prompt, safe, and effective electrical solutions while maintaining our high standards of quality and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, lighting, outlets, panels, and controls
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment
- Respond promptly to guest room and facility maintenance requests
- Diagnose electrical issues and implement safe, effective repairs
- Maintain and operate emergency systems, including generators and backup power
- Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, safety regulations, and hotel standards
- Assist with renovations, upgrades, and new installations
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and installations
- Coordinate with other maintenance staff and hotel departments to minimize disruption
- Perform safety checks and follow all safety procedures, including proper PPE use
- Trade certification or diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience as an Electrician, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, generators, and backup power solutions
- Familiarity with local electrical codes and safety regulations
- Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
