About the Role
WTS Energy is a premier global consultancy and manpower supplier to the international oil, gas, and energy industries. We are currently looking for a dedicated and proactive EHS Officer to join our team and support operations across assigned locations in Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria. In this role, you will play a critical part in delivering our environmental, health, and safety vision by implementing robust management systems, ensuring full statutory compliance, and championing a culture of continuous safety improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Support the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Integrated Management System aligned with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 39001 standards.
- Ensure strict compliance with corporate EHS policies, procedures, and Nigerian statutory obligations while maintaining audit-ready documentation.
- Conduct routine workplace inspections, identify hazards, perform risk assessments, and maintain accurate risk registers.
- Lead or support thorough incident investigations, track corrective and preventive actions, and analyze safety trends to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate engaging EHS inductions, daily toolbox talks, safety meetings, and awareness campaigns.
- Drive occupational health programmes, road safety management, and emergency preparedness activities.
- Manage environmental initiatives including waste management, pollution prevention, and corporate sustainability goals.
- Monitor contractor compliance, participation in onboarding, and performance assessments.
- Prepare comprehensive EHS reports, dashboards, and metrics to aid management decision-making.
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on professional experience in an EHS role.
- Possession of recognized certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely, or ISPON membership.
- ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 Internal Auditor certification will be an added advantage.
- Proven expertise in risk assessments, safety audits, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance within ISO-certified environments.
