About the Role
Jeffreda Montessori and High School, a prestigious government-approved private educational institution in Rivers State, Nigeria, is looking for a passionate and qualified Economics Teacher. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the analytical and financial literacy skills of our secondary school students, preparing them for external examinations and future academic success within a supportive and dynamic learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and comprehensive Economics lessons in accordance with the Nigerian secondary school curriculum.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted support to improve academic outcomes.
- Create a stimulating, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and active student participation.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavioral development in line with school policies.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, staff training sessions, parent-teacher conferences, and school-wide extracurricular events.
- Prepare students effectively for local and international examinations by utilizing proven teaching methodologies and past question analyses.
- Minimum of an Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), or B.Sc in Economics with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant teaching experience in a recognized secondary school setting.
- Exceptional fluency in spoken and written English with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated passion for teaching and a deep understanding of modern pedagogical techniques.
