About the Role
Busybees & West Mills British School is a premier unified private institution located in the vibrant Apapa area of Lagos, Nigeria. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join our dynamic team on a full-time, on-site basis. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the educational journey of our youngest learners, fostering an environment where curiosity, creativity, and foundational skills thrive.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons and play-based learning activities that align with the school curriculum and core values.
- Monitor, observe, and meticulously record children’s developmental progress, contributing meaningfully to individual learning plans.
- Create and maintain a safe, clean, stimulating, and welcoming classroom environment conducive to holistic child development.
- Manage daily routines seamlessly, including meal times, rest periods, and transitional activities while promoting positive behavioral habits.
- Establish and maintain open, regular communication channels with parents and guardians regarding their children's progress and daily experiences.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow educators and support staff, actively participating in professional development training and school events.
- Relevant professional qualifications in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Early Childhood Development principles and practical experience working with children in a structured educational or childcare setting.
- Exceptional creativity to design interactive, engaging, and stimulating play-based learning programs.
- Strong organizational skills to manage classroom resources, daily schedules, and student documentation efficiently.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with patience, empathy, and a genuinely nurturing approach.
- Ability and willingness to uphold and respect the school's Christian ethos and values in all daily practices.
