About the Role
Gemameg Company Nigeria Limited is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic operations in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a vital part in the safe and efficient haulage of waste and ore materials, ensuring adherence to strict mining safety regulations. We are looking for a reliable professional with heavy-duty driving expertise who can maintain constant communication with site supervisors and contribute to our commitment to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Perform thorough pre-start checks and brake tests prior to operating the dump truck.
- Work collaboratively with ground personnel to ensure the safe haulage of waste and ore materials.
- Park in designated zones for optimal loading and traffic management.
- Inspect tipping points to ensure they are safe for offloading materials.
- Control the speed and direction of the vehicle, utilizing levers to tilt the body and dump materials.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure the truck is serviced and kept in optimal working condition.
- Maintain constant communication channels between operators and the site supervisor.
- Report any unsafe activities, hazards, or near-misses immediately to management.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times and adhere strictly to the company code of conduct.
- Minimum of an SSCE / GCE / NECO qualification.
- 5 to 10 years of professional driving experience within a mining or construction company.
- Possession of a valid Nigerian driver's license (Class D, E, G, or H).
- Must be fully literate with the ability to read and write proficiently.
- Strong understanding of safety rules, regulations, and site protocols.
