About the Role
Gemameg Company Nigeria Limited is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic operations in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our logistical and haulage processes, ensuring materials are transported efficiently and safely across our sites. Key Responsibilities- Carry out comprehensive pre-start checks and brake tests before operating the dump truck.
- Work in conjunction with ground personnel for the safe haulage of waste and ore materials.
- Park in appropriate areas in preparation for loading and manage traffic flow with other vehicles.
- Ensure the tipping point is completely safe before offloading the truck.
- Control the speed and direction of the truck, utilizing levers to tilt the body and dump materials.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure the machinery is properly serviced and maintained.
- Maintain constant communication between machine operators and the on-site supervisor.
- Report any unsafe activities or operational hazards immediately to management.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times and comply with company codes of conduct.
- Achieve operational targets set by the mine and technical teams in alignment with safety regulations.
- Minimum of an SSCE, GCE, or NECO qualification.
- 5 to 10 years of proven work experience as a Dump Truck Driver in a mining or construction company.
- Possession of a valid Nigerian driver's license (Class D, E, G, or H).
- Must be fully literate with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Strong understanding of site safety rules, regulations, and heavy equipment operation.
