About the Role

Malaria Consortium Nigeria is seeking a reliable, experienced, and safety-conscious Driver to support our critical health initiatives and operations across the country. In this role, you will play an essential part in our mission to tackle malaria by ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of project officials, staff, and materials. Working under the supervision of the Admin Officer, you will uphold the highest standards of road safety, vehicle maintenance, and organizational security protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely transport Malaria Consortium employees, visitors, and goods as directed while strictly observing Nigerian traffic regulations and speed limits.
  • Perform daily and weekly preventive vehicle maintenance, pre-departure checks, and minor repairs to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date movement, fuel consumption, and maintenance logbooks for all assigned vehicles.
  • Ensure all vehicles are clean, fully fueled, securely parked, and equipped with valid licenses, insurance, and emergency kits.
  • Monitor and report route security conditions, maintain active radio communication with the base station, and adhere strictly to organizational security protocols.
  • Assist with loading, offloading, mail delivery, bill payments, and other administrative logistics tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of an O’Level Certificate with a valid, clean Nigerian driving license.
  • At least 5 years of professional driving experience, preferably with international NGOs or development projects.
  • Good knowledge of vehicle mechanics, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, honesty, and a pleasant, hardworking personality.
  • Fluency in English with excellent communication and route-planning abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and strictly follow organizational security and travel protocols.
