About the Role
Godfrey Okoye University Teaching Hospital (GOUNITH), formerly Ntasi Obi Hospital, is a premier university teaching hospital standing at the vibrant intersection of research, education, and patient care. We are seeking a reliable, professional, and safety-conscious Driver to support our institutional and healthcare operations in a fast-paced medical environment.
Key Responsibilities- Safely transport authorized hospital staff, patients, and visitors to designated locations within and outside the state.
- Ensure routine maintenance and servicing of assigned hospital vehicles, including checking oil, water, battery, and tyre pressure.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date logbooks for all vehicle movements, mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance records.
- Adhere strictly to Nigerian traffic laws, hospital safety guidelines, and standard operating procedures at all times.
- Promptly report any mechanical faults, accidents, or traffic incidents to the transport management team.
- Assist with the collection and delivery of official hospital mail, documents, medical supplies, and equipment as required.
- Possession of a First School Leaving Certificate or equivalent educational qualification.
- Must hold a valid Class C Driving License with proven post-qualification driving experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Nigerian road networks, traffic regulations, and safety protocols.
- Exhibit high levels of integrity, punctuality, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Basic ICT compliance and ability to use digital communication and navigation tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment with diverse teams.
