About the Role
Slum2School Africa is a leading volunteer-driven developmental organization dedicated to transforming society by empowering disadvantaged children to realize their full potential. Founded in 2012, we address severe educational shortcomings across Africa by providing scholarships, creating innovative learning spaces, and offering vital psychosocial support to children living in slums and indigent communities. We are currently looking for a creative, dedicated Documentary Videographer and Photographer to join our dynamic team and help us document our impactful journey.
Key Responsibilities- Capture high-quality photographs and videos of Slum2School events, community outreaches, learning spaces, and beneficiary interactions.
- Produce compelling documentary-style videos that highlight individual success stories, organizational milestones, and community impact.
- Collaborate closely with the communications and media teams to conceptualize and execute visual content strategies for digital platforms.
- Manage end-to-end production workflows, including pre-production planning, filming, audio recording, editing, and post-production color grading.
- Maintain and organize all media equipment, digital assets, archives, and raw footage in a secure and accessible repository.
- Translate complex social development narratives into engaging visual stories that resonate with donors, partners, and the general public.
- Proven professional experience as a videographer, photographer, or documentary filmmaker, preferably within the non-profit or social enterprise sector.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional technical skills in camera operation, lighting, audio equipment, and video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and Photoshop.
- Ability to work sensitively and respectfully within vulnerable, indigent, and slum communities across Nigeria.
- Excellent storytelling abilities with a keen eye for detail, composition, and emotional resonance.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines in dynamic environments.
- Relevant academic qualifications in Media, Film Production, Communications, or a related field.
