About the Role
Tincan Island Container Terminal Limited (TICT) is redefining port and terminal operations in Nigeria through operational excellence, stringent safety standards, and unmatched customer commitment. Established in 2004, our facility at Apapa, Lagos serves as a vital maritime hub. We are currently seeking a dedicated Dispatcher to join our fast-paced control room environment, ensuring the seamless coordination of cargo handling equipment and maximizing terminal productivity.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the centralized deployment and reallocation of Cargo Handling Equipment including RTGs, MHCs, and terminal trucks per shift.
- Monitor live terminal operations using the Terminal Operating System (TOS) to track productivity and eliminate bottlenecks.
- Ensure seamless alignment between yard activities, gate movements, and vessel loading schedules.
- Maintain real-time communication with Yard and Marine Coordinators to swiftly address equipment faults and operational delays.
- Accurately record deployment decisions and assist in generating comprehensive shift performance reports.
- Minimum of an HND or Bachelor's Degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in port terminal operations, dispatching, or control room functions.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using Terminal Operating Software (TOS) and interpreting operational metrics.
- Strong situational awareness, multitasking abilities, and rapid decision-making skills.
