About the Role
Godfrey Okoye University Teaching Hospital (GOUNITH), formerly Ntasi Obi Hospital, is a premier medical institution dedicated to a holistic approach to wellness, research, education, and exceptional patient care. We are currently seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Works and Maintenance Services to lead our infrastructure development, asset management, and technical operations.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of all hospital buildings, infrastructure, and engineering facilities.
- Ensure the reliable operation of critical hospital utilities, including power generation, water supply, medical gas pipelines, and HVAC systems.
- Manage the maintenance budget, procurement of engineering materials, and oversight of external contractors and service providers.
- Implement rigorous health, safety, and environmental compliance standards across all technical operations.
- Provide strategic leadership to multidisciplinary engineering and maintenance teams to support seamless healthcare delivery.
- Good honours degree with a minimum of a Second-Class Lower Division in Engineering or a related discipline from a recognized University.
- Possession of a higher degree will be an added advantage.
- Mandatory membership of recognized professional bodies and valid practicing licenses where applicable.
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant post-qualification experience in university or institutional administration.
- Must have served for at least three (3) years as a Deputy Director at the time of application.
