About the Role
ActionAid Nigeria is seeking a strategic and visionary Director of Finance to lead our financial operations and ensure long-term sustainability. Operating across 26 states, we work tirelessly to combat poverty and empower marginalized communities. In this executive role, you will oversee financial planning, risk management, and systems strengthening, playing a pivotal role in shaping our national mission and global federation impact.
Key Responsibilities- Lead strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation aligned with global and national frameworks.
- Ensure robust financial governance, internal controls, regulatory compliance (IFRS), and effective audit management.
- Provide expert financial intelligence and risk management to senior leadership, the National Board, and external stakeholders.
- Drive fundraising partnerships, financial capacity building for local partners, and the integration of social enterprise models.
- Direct and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Nationally recognized Professional Accounting Qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or ANAN.
- Minimum of 15 years of post-NYSC experience, with at least 10 years post-professional qualification and 6 years in a senior management role.
- Extensive experience in the development sector, financial control systems, and navigating Nigerian financial regulations.
