About the Role

Our subsidiary, Golden Penny Power Limited, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic power operations team in Lagos. In this vital role, you will ensure the optimal performance, servicing, and repair of our extensive industrial power generation assets, contributing directly to uninterrupted manufacturing operations across our massive milling complex.
Key Responsibilities- Service, repair, and maintain all diesel and gas generators within the factory to ensure peak operational efficiency.
- Operate factory diesel and gas generators safely and effectively according to established protocols.
- Manage and operate main distribution panels for seamless power changeovers.
- Execute comprehensive preventive maintenance schedules and prompt repairs to preemptively avoid unexpected machinery breakdowns.
- Maintain and repair essential auxiliary equipment that supports continuous generator operations.
- Inspect power plant machinery, gauges, and indicators regularly to detect early operating anomalies.
- Perform efficient troubleshooting and complex fault-finding on plant machinery and power equipment.
- Accurately document maintenance parameters and logs to drive continuous plant improvement.
- Minimum of 5 O’level credits, including Mathematics and English, obtained in not more than two sittings.
- Alternative technical certifications such as NABTEB, City and Guilds, or WAEC Technical.
- A minimum of two (2) years of cognate hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic or in an industrial power plant environment.
- Possession of good verbal and written communication skills for effective reporting.
- Solid understanding of maintenance management processes, pneumatics, conveyor systems, and corrosion prevention techniques.
