About the Role

The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu (FUAHSE), established on March 14, 2024, is transforming healthcare education in Nigeria following its evolution from a monotechnic into a comprehensive university comprising six faculties and seventeen departments. As we strive to mitigate healthcare brain drain and meet the rising demand for skilled medical manpower, we are seeking a visionary Deputy Registrar to provide robust administrative leadership. This critical role supports the Registrar in driving institutional excellence, operational efficiency, and strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Registrar in the day-to-day administration and smooth running of the University Registry.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate administrative support staff across various departments and units.
  • Coordinate meetings of statutory university bodies, including the Governing Council and Senate, ensuring accurate documentation and prompt implementation of decisions.
  • Manage personnel records, staff recruitment processes, promotions, and general welfare matters in line with university guidelines.
  • Advise university management on policy formulation, administrative procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  • Liaise with external government agencies, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to foster positive institutional partnerships.

Qualifications
  • Applicants must possess a good honours degree (minimum of a Second Class) from a recognized university, plus a relevant Master's degree; a PhD or relevant professional fellowship will be an added advantage.
  • Must possess relevant professional qualifications and current membership in recognized professional bodies such as NIM, ANUPA, or CIPM.
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of cognate administrative experience, with at least five (5) years spent at the level of a Principal Assistant Registrar or equivalent in a tertiary institution.
  • Demonstrated competence, impeccable integrity, strong leadership capabilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in modern information and communication technology (ICT) and digital university management systems.
