About the Role
The Federal University Otuoke (FUO), established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2011 and located in the oil-rich Niger-Delta region of Bayelsa State, is seeking a strategic and visionary Deputy Director Public Relations. In this vital leadership role, you will oversee the Directorate of Public Relations, shaping the institution's public image, managing media relations, and strengthening engagement with internal and external stakeholders as the university expands its academic faculties and introduces postgraduate programs.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Deputy Director of Public Relations, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies that enhance the visibility and reputation of the university. Your duties will include managing press relations, producing official institutional publications, coordinating high-profile university events, and advising executive management on effective crisis communication and public perception management.
QualificationsCandidates applying for this executive position must meet the rigorous standards set by the Federal University Otuoke Rules and Regulation Governing Conditions of Service of Senior Staff. Requirements include:
- Possession of five credit passes in O-Level subjects, including Mathematics and English Language.
- An Honours Degree from a recognized university in Mass Communication, English Studies, or a relevant field in the Humanities or Social Sciences.
- Mandatory NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Letter.
- Active professional membership in the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
- A minimum of 18 years of cognate experience in public relations, corporate communications, or a similar institutional leadership role.
