About the Role
Solidarités International, a leading humanitarian organization with over 35 years of experience, seeks a Deputy Country Director (Programs) to strengthen strategic programming and operational excellence across our Nigeria mission. Based in Abuja with regular field visits to regional offices, you will provide leadership in managing our 6-7 million USD annual program portfolio across Borno, Adamawa, Zamfara, and Kebbi states.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the program coordination team comprising FSL, WASH, and MEAL coordinators, ensuring strategic coherence and program quality
- Oversee evidence-based, needs-driven programming that remains conflict-sensitive and adaptable to contextual changes
- Strengthen monitoring processes, remote verification systems, and quality assurance mechanisms in insecure environments
- Support implementation of 2027-2029 strategic programming and institutional workstreams
- Drive partnership development and localization initiatives with local partners (GPON, FINDEF)
- Provide external representation and coordinate with institutional donors (ECHO, CDCS, INTPA, SIDA)
- Manage field coordination and support services to mitigate operational constraints
- Master's degree in Humanitarian Affairs, Programming, International Affairs, or related field
- Minimum 5+ years humanitarian sector experience with 3-4 years in similar leadership role
- Expertise in project cycle management, operational monitoring, and programming delivery in remote/insecure contexts
- Strong knowledge of WASH, food security, CASH modality, and shelter interventions
- Proficiency in cross-cutting issues: gender, protection, climate change adaptation
- Fluent English; Hausa and French highly advantageous

- Competitive salary from EUR 3,080 gross monthly (EUR 2,800 base + 10% annual leave allowance) plus USD 750 monthly per diem
