About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is a prestigious federal institution committed to academic excellence and exceptional healthcare service delivery. We are currently seeking a dedicated and professionally trained Dental Technician (CONHESS 06) to join our dynamic dental healthcare team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in fabricating and repairing dental appliances, supporting clinical operations, and maintaining high standards of patient care within our university facilities in Benin City, Edo State.
Key Responsibilities- Fabricate, repair, and alter dental prostheses such as dentures, crowns, bridges, and orthodontic appliances according to prescriptions.
- Maintain and operate dental laboratory equipment efficiently while adhering to safety and sanitation protocols.
- Collaborate with dental surgeons and clinical staff to ensure accurate specifications for patient dental devices.
- Manage inventory of dental laboratory materials, reagents, and tools, requisitioning supplies as needed.
- Ensure quality control for all manufactured dental appliances before clinical delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of all laboratory procedures, patient cases, and equipment maintenance schedules.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and professional development programs organized by the university.
- Possession of a National Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Dental Technology from a recognized institution.
- Current registration and valid practicing license with the relevant professional regulatory body in Nigeria.
- Demonstrated knowledge of modern dental laboratory techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent manual dexterity, and good spatial judgment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines in a busy clinical setting.
