About the Role
Lagos Data School is a premier learning institute dedicated to equipping professionals across the public, private, and non-profit sectors with cutting-edge skills in data science and artificial intelligence. Located in the vibrant heart of Ikeja, Lagos, we strive to bridge the industry talent gap by imparting practical, industry-relevant technical and analytical tools. We are currently looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Data Science Instructor to join our academic team on a part-time, on-site basis and help shape the next generation of data professionals in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, high-impact data science lessons covering statistics, machine learning fundamentals, programming for data analysis, and applied AI concepts.
- Prepare comprehensive lesson plans, instructional materials, and practical exercises aligned with the institute's modern curriculum.
- Supervise hands-on student projects and practical lab sessions to ensure effective application of theoretical concepts.
- Assess learner performance regularly, tracking progress and providing constructive, personalized feedback.
- Mentor students throughout their learning journey, offering career guidance and technical support.
- Collaborate closely with the academic team to continuously improve teaching methodologies and enhance overall student learning outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Demonstrated experience in training, teaching, or facilitation, with a proven ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Solid foundation in mathematics and statistics relevant to data science, including probability and linear algebra.
- Proficiency in standard data science tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, Excel, and Power BI.
- Familiarity with common machine learning libraries and real-world project-based learning methodologies.
