About the Role
Slum and Rural Health Initiative is a dynamic nonprofit organization founded in 2017, officially registered in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and the Gambia. We are dedicated to improving access to healthcare information and services in underserved communities through advocacy, research, and innovative technology. Our multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, IT experts, and social entrepreneurs is passionate about transforming healthcare delivery in Africa. We are currently seeking a proactive Cybersecurity Specialist to safeguard our digital assets, ensure data privacy, and protect our critical infrastructure against emerging threats.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain robust security measures to protect organizational networks, cloud systems, and healthcare databases.
- Monitor systems continuously for security breaches, anomalies, and unauthorized access attempts.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on web and mobile applications.
- Develop and enforce comprehensive cybersecurity policies, protocols, and best practice guidelines for staff.
- Respond promptly to security incidents, investigate breaches, and lead root-cause analysis and remediation efforts.
- Collaborate with the IT team to integrate security protocols into ongoing technology and research projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in information security or cybersecurity roles.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or CISM.
- Strong knowledge of network security architecture, firewalls, encryption technologies, and cloud security.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations and healthcare information security standards.
