About the Role
Sun King is the largest solar provider for off-grid homes in Africa and Asia, serving over 82 million customers across 40+ countries. We design, distribute, and finance solar home energy solutions for the 1.8 billion people without reliable electricity access. We're seeking an experienced Credit Manager to lead credit risk management and operational excellence within our Paygo Phones business in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate portfolio performance by identifying at-risk customers through data analysis and direct client engagement
- Monitor and report risk indicators, portfolio reflags, and performance metrics with timely accuracy
- Analyze regional, area, and product-specific trends to propose risk mitigation strategies
- Conduct internal audits across underwriting, collections, and repossession processes to ensure policy compliance
- Develop and implement proactive collection strategies and field collection plans through team engagement
- Manage portfolio segmentation optimization and account allocation across different risk buckets
- Oversee fraud investigations and case management within established SLAs
- Pilot new initiatives while tracking performance against success metrics
- Prepare comprehensive field reports with operational insights and data-driven recommendations
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Finance, Risk Management, or related business field
- 8+ years experience in Audit, Risk, or Credit departments; 3+ years in supervisory roles
- Certification in Credit Management, Data Interpretation, Statistics, or Computer Science (advantageous)
- Expert knowledge of data collection and field survey methodologies
- Exceptional planning, organizational, and critical thinking skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving abilities and project management experience
- Excellent presentation and written/verbal communication skills
- Team collaboration and stakeholder management expertise
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
