About the Role

Cobranet Limited, a leading internet service provider in Nigeria delivering reliable solutions since 2003, is seeking a results-driven Credit Control - Account Receivable Supervisor to join our growing finance team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the accounts receivable function, manage a dedicated team of credit control officers, and implement effective credit policies to minimize financial risk and ensure timely cash flow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, mentor, and supervise a high-performing team of Credit Control Officers to maximize debt recovery.
  • Formulate and execute robust company credit policies to mitigate unnecessary financial risks.
  • Review comprehensive credit applications and references to establish appropriate credit limits and verify creditworthiness.
  • Prepare accurate journal entries, issue credit notes, and actively assist with comprehensive month-end closing activities.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and generate regular reports on Aged Debtors to track outstanding balances.
  • Collaborate and negotiate terms with third-party debt collection agencies when necessary.
  • Oversee write-offs, manage bad debt provisions, and establish structured payment plans for clients.
  • Continuously review and refine departmental processes and procedures to significantly reduce debtor days.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven professional experience in end-to-end credit control, accounts receivable, and accounting domains.
  • Solid working knowledge of Nigerian credit laws and regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience in staff management and leadership within a finance environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting reconciliations and advanced financial software, particularly Microsoft Excel and standard accounting packages.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to conduct difficult customer negotiations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
