About the Role

BBC Media Action is seeking an experienced Creative Lead for a high-impact, multi-component Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) programme focused on reproductive health and family planning in Northern Nigeria. In this two-year role, you will collaborate with the Head of Production to shape the creative vision, brand identity, and quality of compelling digital campaigns and social-first content that drive meaningful social change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overarching creative leadership, setting the tone, visual direction, and storytelling principles for digital and multiplatform content.
  • Translate complex programme objectives and audience insights into culturally relevant, engaging creative concepts and campaigns.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the in-house creative and digital content team, fostering a culture of innovation and experimentation.
  • Oversee the end-to-end production of digital-first assets, ensuring strict adherence to BBC Media Action brand and editorial standards.
  • Collaborate closely with research, communications, and technical teams to integrate audience data and performance insights into creative strategies.
  • Manage creative budgets, resources, and external production partners efficiently to ensure maximum value and impact.
Qualifications
  • 8 to 10+ years of proven experience in creative leadership within digital advertising, communications, media, or social impact sectors.
  • A robust creative portfolio demonstrating exceptional digital and social-first campaign work.
  • Demonstrated expertise in translating strategic goals into compelling creative ideas rooted in audience insights.
  • Deep understanding of the Nigerian creative, digital, and popular culture landscape.
  • Strong background in managing multidisciplinary creative and production teams.
