About the Role
Maton Engineering Nigeria Limited is a multidisciplinary engineering and project support company powering the Nigerian oil and gas industry with reliable, end-to-end solutions. We are currently seeking a technically competent and safety-conscious Crane Mechanic Specialist to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect, service, maintain, and repair mobile, crawler, rough-terrain, and truck-mounted cranes.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control-system faults.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on engines, transmissions, winches, and braking systems.
- Examine hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors, hoses, and valves for wear, leaks, or defects.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, mechanical drawings, and hydraulic schematics.
- Conduct functional checks and performance tests following all maintenance or repair activities.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns at workshops, project sites, or remote locations.
- Ensure full compliance with company HSE policies, lifting regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
- Certificate, Trade Test, OND, HND, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Heavy Equipment Maintenance.
- 3 to 5 years of proven experience maintaining and repairing cranes and heavy lifting equipment.
- Strong expertise in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical control systems.
- Familiarity with Load Moment Indicators (LMI) and modern crane safety systems.
- Prior experience working in oil and gas, construction, marine, or heavy engineering environments.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
