About the Role
Marconi.NG EPC Limited operates the prestigious Rumuolumeni Fabrication Yard in Port Harcourt, a 1,000,000-square-meter facility driving engineering excellence in West Africa's oil and gas sector since 1999. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Estimator to join our dynamic commercial team. In this role, you will prepare accurate, competitive, and commercially sound cost estimates for EPC tenders, proposals, and RFQs, ensuring all financial, logistical, and technical requirements are thoroughly evaluated.
Key Responsibilities- Review ITTs, RFQs, BOQs, MTOs, drawings, specifications, and commercial conditions to establish accurate estimating bases.
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates covering fabrication, procurement, construction, installation, engineering, and logistics.
- Issue RFQs to vendors and subcontractors, then analyze and compare quotations to identify risks and commercial deviations.
- Build structured estimate sheets for direct materials, labor, equipment, temporary works, and indirect site overheads.
- Collaborate with the Proposal Manager to apply appropriate allowances, contingencies, profit margins, and taxes aligned with bid strategy.
- Maintain clear documentation of estimating assumptions, conduct arithmetic cross-checks, and support tender clarifications.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, Cost Engineering, Economics, or Accounting.
- Professional certification or active membership in a relevant professional body is an added advantage.
- 3 to 8 years of relevant experience in cost estimating, tendering, or project cost control within the EPC, oil and gas, or construction industry.
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, BOQs, and MTOs alongside advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
- Strong commercial awareness, exceptional attention to detail, and proven ability to meet strict tender deadlines.
