About the Role

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our growing team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in optimizing our financial performance by analyzing production costs, managing accounting books, and providing strategic financial insights to senior management.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and analyze comprehensive data regarding company operational costs.
- Establish standard costs for manufactured goods and business processes including labor, administration, and shipping.
- Develop, analyze, and review cost standards to ensure maximum operational efficiency.
- Perform cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis and execute accurate account reconciliations.
- Prepare detailed audit reports and present actionable financial findings to management.
- Recommend strategic changes to company processes and policies to reduce costs and maximize profit margins.
- Advise executives on appropriate costing strategies based on robust financial data.
- Manage the company balance sheet and core accounting books while supporting the finance team with invoicing and capital expenditures.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or a recognized equivalent.
- 3 to 5 years of proven working experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, or in a similar financial role.
- Demonstrated experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and budgeting principles.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, proficiency in accounting software, and experience with cost accounting tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills with high attention to detail.
