About the Role
Slum and Rural Health Initiative is a registered nonprofit organization operating in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and The Gambia since 2017. We are dedicated to improving access to healthcare information and services in vulnerable and underserved communities through advocacy, research, and technology. Our multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, social scientists, tech experts, researchers, and creatives are passionate about transforming healthcare delivery in Africa. We are currently seeking a creative Content Creator and Social Media Assistant to help amplify our mission and engage our digital community.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, write, and edit engaging content for various social media platforms, including Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.
- Design compelling visual assets, infographics, and short videos to support public health campaigns and advocacy initiatives.
- Manage the organization's social media content calendar, scheduling posts and monitoring engagement metrics.
- Collaborate with researchers and healthcare professionals to translate complex public health data into accessible, audience-friendly content.
- Monitor digital trends, community feedback, and online conversations to identify opportunities for greater impact and outreach.
- Assist in executing digital marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and support fundraising or outreach programs.
- Relevant academic qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Health, or a related field.
- Proven experience in content creation, social media management, or digital communications, preferably within the nonprofit or health sector.
- Strong copywriting and storytelling skills with a keen eye for visual design using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Familiarity with public health issues, advocacy, and community development in Nigeria and broader African contexts.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team.
