About the Role
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja is a state-of-the-art 500-bed specialty hospital developed by Afreximbank in clinical partnership with Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are dedicated to providing exceptional, comprehensive medical care across Africa. We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Consultant General Paediatrician to lead our paediatric clinical services, mentor junior medical staff, and drive clinical excellence in a world-class healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic paediatric conditions across inpatient and outpatient departments.
- Lead paediatric emergency care, resuscitation, and stabilization of critically ill infants, children, and adolescents.
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior doctors, medical officers, and paediatric residents.
- Ensure compliance with international clinical governance, quality assurance, and patient safety standards.
- Contribute to academic programs, clinical audits, research initiatives, and departmental service development.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design individualized patient care plans and promote family-centered healthcare.
- Medical Degree (MBBS/MBChB or equivalent) from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Fellowship in Paediatrics from the WACP, NPMCN, or an equivalent recognized international board certification.
- Current, full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) along with a valid practicing license.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience, with substantial clinical practice at the consultant level.
