About the Role
Terre des hommes, a leading Swiss child relief organization operating in over 30 countries, is seeking a qualified consultant to enhance its strategic positioning for the European Commission's Humanitarian Implementation Plan 2027 (ECHO HIP 2027). This assignment will support the Nigeria delegation in developing a competitive, evidence-based proposal focused on Education in Emergencies and Child Protection in Emergencies.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive desk reviews of ECHO priorities, previous HIPs, and humanitarian planning documents
- Lead humanitarian needs analysis and identify response gaps in Education and Child Protection in Emergencies sectors
- Assess Terre des hommes Nigeria's positioning, comparative advantages, and capacity constraints
- Facilitate stakeholder mapping and consortium development with INGOs and local NGOs
- Develop 2-3 positioning scenarios with integrated response strategies
- Prepare preliminary technical packages, logical frameworks, and budget assumptions
- Support proposal development with up to 7 days of technical backstopping
- Conduct validation workshops and final restitution sessions with country office teams
- Proven experience developing ECHO proposals or strategic positioning for ECHO funding
- Strong technical expertise in Education and Child Protection in Emergencies
- Experience in humanitarian needs analysis, project design, and logical framework development
- Knowledge of Nigerian humanitarian context preferred
- Excellent analytical, facilitation, and English writing skills
- Ability to deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines
- Duration: September-November 2026 (30-40 working days)
- Modality: Hybrid (remote work plus approximately 10 days in Nigeria, including Borno State)
