About the Role

Doviana College of Education, an approved Private Tertiary Institution by the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) located in Gboko, Benue State, is dedicated to producing well-motivated teachers with high personal and professional discipline, integrity, and competence. We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Confidential Secretary to join our growing administrative team. In this pivotal role, you will provide high-level secretarial, administrative, and clerical support to Principal Officers of the college, ensuring that all confidential documents, correspondence, and high-stakes meetings are handled with the utmost professionalism and discretion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and organize sensitive documents, correspondences, and confidential institutional files with strict security and discretion.
  • Coordinate executive calendars, schedule appointments, and efficiently organize meetings, including the preparation and timely delivery of accurate meeting minutes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, handling visitors and communications with professional courtesy.
  • Conduct internet research, manage electronic and physical filing systems, and prepare routine reports using office productivity tools.

Qualifications
  • Possession of an HND or ND in Secretarial Studies, Office Technology Management, Business Administration, or a related field (a BSc is an added advantage).
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of proven experience working as a Secretary or Executive Assistant, preferably within a tertiary institution or the public service sector.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in shorthand and typing (100/50 wpm preferred) along with advanced competency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English, coupled with strong interpersonal abilities and a presentable appearance.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, manage competing priorities, and consistently meet strict deadlines.
  • Preferred attributes include TRCN registration and familiarity with standard government or civil service administrative procedures.
